We made it – All the way to Tromso… And I haven’t written anything since day two. So these next few posts will be more of a summary than a dialogue and more photos than words I hope! There weren’t too many big adventures (or major catastrophes)!

The sun came out and we had some beautiful flat water sailing with some of the most spectacular scenery I’ve ever seen.

We even got the spinnaker up a few times!

That sailboat was one of less than ten we saw the entire trip. Either everyone else knew something we didn’t, or we really lucked out with our timing. We would go for hours without seeing anyone on the water. It really was amazing!

Gareth braved shorts…

And I braved the water…

We saw puffins! And had our first attack by the Arctic Terns!! Not sure how we’re going to cope with the flocks of them in Svalbard…

We fished… A lot… And didn’t manage to catch a thing!

It was still fun though 🙂

After Nusfjord, we sailied to Kabelvag. From here it was just around the corner to the biggest town in the Lofotens, Svolvaer. Our main reason for stopping here was the infamous climb, Svolvaergeita, the Goat. More to come in the next post…
